Tom Kent

Tom Kent’s photography is perhaps the most well known of the Orkney Archive collections. In fact the collection of glass slides founded the photographic archive in 1976. Kent’s images of Orkney at the turn of last century were published in magazines south and promoted the idea of Stromness as the Venice of the north. More on Tom Kent (1893-1936) here.
